Default Bases on Winchester Model 70...

Hi. The Model 70 in 6.5x55mm is a long action, right? So I need to get the bases for a long action Model 70.

If going with a 1 piece base, then, yes, the action length makes a difference. With 2 piece base, what RR said. Most everybody now uses 2 piece bases. I like Talley's myself.

you can get 2 piece bases much more reasonably that 1 piece. 1 piece may be more durable, but i use 2 piece. they still work awesome. i bought 4 sets of those for my model 70 featherweight because i found them for 3.00 each on ebay. who knows, maybe i'll buy 3 more rifles!
