What to get?

Say, for instance, I was to be receiving somewhere around $250 as a gift. If I was to use this, along with maybe an extra $50 to get some binoculars, what would you all suggest? That's right; another one of those "what is the best you can get in the $200-$300 range" questions. Thanks for the input!

Check out the Wind River series from Leupold. Maybe some 10x50's. depending on where and what your hunting.

I'll be hunting whitetail predominately...in southern TN. Mostly hardwoods, ridges and hollers. A few spots where shots could reach out to 300 yards in rifle season.

8x42 nikon monarchs for my $. Forget 10x in the woods, maybe consider a 7x if you can find one.

I'd agree if your in lots of hardwoods, they make a 8x32(maybe its 42, I forget) thats nice.

For about $325 +/- you can buy what I think is a super value in bino's - the Pentax WP II's.

What about the Leupold Wind River Cascade 8x42's? Has anyone had any experience with them?
