Which Rangefinder would you recommend?
 

Cabela's CLR 1200 Laser Rangefinder 199.88
Nikon ProStaff 550 Laser Rangefinder 199.99
I'm sure they both will range out to 300 yards.That's about the maximum distance I would be shooting.I'm wondering which would be better for archery?Also which model would work the best in wooded areas?Thanks

Not sure who makes the Cabelas units but Nikon's are usually decent too. Cabelas is good at returns if you don't like what you purchase. Personally, I prefer the Leica's but they are at a different level.:)

Bushnell makes them for Cabela's.I'm sure Leica is better but I don't have the money for them.

I also am looking and was leaning towards the Cabelas by Bushnell CLR 1200. For the price (clearance) it looks like it would range a little farther than other bottom end units. I want to be able to range a deer in a field. Some of the others only state like 200 yards on deer sized game. Give me some opinions as this will be my first. 200 hundred dollars is the most I can spend right now.

Cabelas states the CLR will range deer sized game to 400 yards. According to Nikons ads the New prostaff 550 will range deer sized objects to the as stated 550yards. I can't say as I have yet to use the new Prostaff 550 maybe somebody else can chime in this regard for you. However if I had to chose between either bushnell or nikon, I'd pick the nikon based on previous experience with their LRF's.

I can not speak for the Cabela brand, but Nikon is what I use an it is nice.

I went ahead and ordered the CLR 1200. I'll let you know what I think of it.

I have a Lieca 900 rangefinder for sale .
Paid over $500. its a couple years old but like new .
I,ll take $300. plus shipping ..

I got my CLR 1200 and have been playing around with it, Was able to range a traffic signal light at 922 yards. Not a bad rangefinder for the money.
