I would go with a Nikon Monarch in a heart beat. Check out theopticzone.com for some awesome prices.

This is the 5th model 700 Iv'e owned, two ADL 06's, two BDL's, one of them a .300 Win mag, two different Remington .22's and all have been extremely well made and accurate. We all have our favorites. This LSS is tough, a hard hitter, accurate and drop dead beautiful. Iv'e waited a long time for a gun like this. Not to take away from the CZ at all, it is also an excellent gun, someone out there will be getting a winner.
It's just time to choose and I think I'll stick with the Remington-----John

I put a VXIII on my 300WSM, but I bought a Sightron for my 30-06 and am totally impressed with thte optics. But to stay in the $200-300 range, the Bushnell Elite 3200 is a good choice or check out any of the Muellers. I have 2 Muellers and for the price they're a great scope. They sell them cheaper at retail stores than their website. http://www.muelleroptics.com/

I haven't heard of the Muellers, but thanks for the site, I'll check them out. Went thru the catalog at the gun store today and found a Leupold V11, 3x9x40mm in silver for $266. What do you think? Should I keep looking or would this onebe a decent choice?A V11 shouldn't have any problem with recoil, right?.....................John
Incidentally, you guys have been very helpful and Iv'e learned some things about scopes I may not have learned otherwise, thanks....

VXII's are nice scopes. Leupolds warranty is about the best out there. The warranty stays with the scope, not the owner. It'll easily handle the recoil. People put those on harder kicking guns than a WSM.

Bergcrane, thanks for the positive answer. Iv'e got the CZ on consignment at the same store so now I just wait. I did check out the Muellers and some of them looked real good, but I didn't see much at all in the silver. I know a stainless action and barrel is a little flashy compared to something that's camo, but this thing just looks too good to put a black scope on it. Hopefully, the hogs will be far enough away, they won't see or comment on my colorful rifle...................John

Here's a picture of my Savage 17HMR with a Mueller 8.5x25x50 in silver.

Now I like how that looks! And I love that long bell---Looks like that would certainly be a tack driver. I have finally mastered getting photos on a thread, but now they are too big and I'm not sure how to downsize them...John

The VX II would be a great choice...no matter how good other scopes may be, it is hard to beat a Leupold gold ring. And yes, it will stand up to the recoil...I have a matte 3X9X40 VX II on my .300 WBY and no problems whatsoever. Even if you did have a problem they would fix it and it would be after years of punishment.

Go here. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloads/powertoys/Xppowertoys.mspx And download the Image Resizer. 800x600 is a good start. It'll fill up the body of your post. That's a screw-on sunshade Mueller offers. They're stackable too.
