bought the same scope this summer from SWFA for 250 and put it on my Ultra Slug Hunter. Very happy with it.

I was not a fan of glass in this price range, figuring for $300 +/- the quality and clarity would not be there. I have had scopes from other makers in that range that were more or less the pits, especially at very low light.

I bought a used ML with a 2008 Bushnell Elite 4200, "Fire Fly" and "Rain Guard" model. Because I was too lazy to swap the Elite 4200 scope with a Zeiss Conquest that I had doing nothing before ML days were upon me, I left it on the rifle. I am impressed and have no plans to take the scope off. The "Fire Fly" was not impressive, but the glass did fine well into "Dark:30". I took a nice 8 pt. right at last light ... no problem. The image of the buck was clean, clear and with very good detail. The only complaint I have is that the 4200 is relatively long and therefore fairly heavy. At $255, it's a steal.

If there's a better scope out there for less than $350 I sure haven't seen it.

I don't have any problem with the length or weight of the 3x9, but I do have a 4200 6x24 and that's about the same size and weight as a typical softball bat. Ok, maybe not quite that big, but it's probably not something you'd want if you're trying to put together a lightweight carry-all-day rifle.

The 3x9x40 Elite 4200 is not a large scope, I believe it is one of the smallest quality scopes you can get for physical size and weight, I have one on my Elite and it is great. I think some of the other Elite's are alot longer and bigger but not the 3x9.
