Wyoming Hunt - What to buy?

I am going on a spot and stalk archery Mule Deer hunt next fall in southeast Wyoming (near Douglas). I have never hunted this type of situation or terrain before. So this will be a new experience for me. I do not have any optics that will allow me to scan the area. Would binoculars or a spotting scope be best or should I get both? Money is not so much a problem, but I don't really want to shell out $1000-2000 on something I may only use one time. I probably would like to stay under $600-$700 for a pair of binoculars and as cheap as I can go to get a "decent" spotting scope (if needed). The binoculars I can use in WV, but the spotting scope is kind of useless where I hunt.

RE: Wyoming Hunt - What to buy?

I lived in Wyoming for the last three years, I just moved back to Montana 3-weeks ago. I own a pair of Swarovski SLC 10x42mm binos & aSwarovski 20x60x65mm spotting scope. I use my binos every time I scout or hunt. The spotting scopehas almost never been used. I wish I would not have bought the spotting scope, I just do not need it or use it.
I would not recommend a spotting scope. I would recommend top of the line binos. Check out ebay for a good used set. I have seen Swarovski 10x42 binos that look brand new selling for $850 on ebay.
