rifle scope
What scope would you recommend for a 30-06 around $80-$170 ,shooting anywhere from 20-250 yards

RE: rifle scope
Very simple-either a weaver v10,2x-10x,or a nikon prostaff 3x-9x-40mm.

I haven't had it long enough to see how it holds up to the test of time but so far I like it quite a bit. Really clear and has just impressed me. It's only slightly over your budget. I paid $200 or so on clearance from Dicks Sporting Goods with a free Garmin eTrex GPS. |

RE: rifle scope
Not sure about the tru-glo as I don't have any experience with them other than you'll never need 16x in the deer woods, but the simmons has entirely too much magnfication to be even usable in field unless turned all the way down, and both simmons and bsa are too cheap and iffy quality to take a chance on trusting. It's MUCH better to go with quality than to go with a cheap scope with more power!!!!!!!

RE: rifle scope
I don't have any personal experience with BSA but I know a couple of people who have bought them and they all said the insides just broke loose from the recoil on anything bigger than a .22 but that they worked fine on a .22. I'd stay away from that. One of the guys that told me this is one of the better guys I know when it comes to guns. He seems to know what he is talking about.

RE: rifle scope
+1 on the burris fullfield II, also check out nikon buckmaster, bushnell 3200,and luepold vx1. All are around $200 and are good scopes. A few extra dollars now will save you $ later. If you cant get the extradough, the nikon prostaff would be my choice.
