looking at a 3x12x44 are these right there with nikon, leupolds,ect

They are a good scope and probably Leupold VX-III ,Nikon class opticallyalthough they will be longer and weigh more and have a spotty service department to service them when they go **** up. I would go for the Nikon faced with the choice. I have found Nikons to have some of the most precise W/E adjustments for the price of any scope..

Personal preference and budget go a long way, but here is a general optic quality guide composed by people that now a lot more about scopes than I do. Lots of good info in thread also.

The Sig Selects are quite good (optical quality). I had one, but traded it as ergonomically, I didn't care for it. It just seemed massive and bulky to me. However, it will do the job for which it is intended.
