Spotting scopes

Hi
Anyone know of a decent spotting scope for $150 or less? Can't afford any higher at the moment. Thanks Kevin

If you basically need a decent range scope, check out the Brunton Echo compact 12-36 X 50. It IS a Chinese unit but not half bad (actually).

what's your size requirement? 60mm vs 80mm will make a big difference on price.

Hi
I think 60mm will be all I need. Going to use it for the range and out when I go hunting. Thanks Kevin

well any 60mm would be great for range....cheapo bushnell's would work fine...sometimes you can pick them up on ebay or the Alpen 18-36 spotters. they are not too bad either for something cheap that can be used at the range.

for hunting purposes (if not a primary purpose) then any of the above would be fine.....if you want a good one for hunting (from vehicle or close to vehicle) i would get a 60mm spotter and maybe a little higher end bushnell or even nikon

if you want to use it for back pack hunting. then NO 60 mm...way too heavy.....get a 50mm MAX and get the lightes one you can get.

decent? for that price? perhaps used on ebay or something.

I think spending an extra $150 on your scope would be better spent, ie going from a 200 scope to a 350...

but for 150 on a new spotter, it'll do what its worth, not much. I bought a cheap tasco spotter years ago. no matter what the power was, my vx-iii at 14x was much clearer and could show bullet holes at 100/200yds better than that thing could at any power, I believe probably over a decade ago I paid close to a $100 for it.

I'd try and rethink the $150 spotter idea.

Buying a used scope if you can get one in your price range may allow you to buy just a little better quality spotting scope.

how about this one, for $185?

I just received their 8x42 VISTA binoculars. The quality definitely exceeds my expectation. I always own a set of Vortex skyline 20-60x80mm. It is decent, but kind of bulky and heavy.
