Anyone use BDC Scopes?

Just wandering how many of you use BDC (bullet drop compensating) scopes like the Leupold Boon & Crockett or the Burris Ballistic Plex.

I use the Burris Ballistic Plex scopes on both of my 7mm-08's and have found them to work exceptonally well. Sighted in dead on at 100 Yds, I'm more or less dead on (within 3/4") at 200 and 300 Yds with my handloads and using the appropriate aim points. Haven't tried 400 or 500 Yds yet.

Anyone else use these BDC socpes? If so, please share your experiences.

I have a Rapid Z 600 (Zeiss Conquest) on my 338wm, using handloaded 225gr nosler AB dead on at 100, 200 & 300. Less than 1" at 400 and 500. Pleased

Well skeeter...looks like we are the lone rangers where the use of BDC scopes are concerned. I sure would have thought there would be more folks using these scopes, especially the bean field shooters and those out west.

I use a Burris Euro-Diamond 2.5x10x44mm with the Ballistic Plex retical on my Remington 700xcr in 270wsm. Sighted in dead on at 200yds. with Winchester 150gr. Power Point ammo chronographed 3200fps. out of my gun. It matches up real well. Took this mule deer doe last season at a lasered 298yds. put the 300yd. mark behind the should and touched the trigger. Hit where I was aiming. Was hitting rocks at 500yds. with it.

ORIGINAL: Ridge Runner

first, to 300 yards you can sight in for a mpbr, and do well, and about any high intensity rifle can be used to 500 yards using holdover, and even if your dead nuts on at all ranges with the BDC they start to lose accuracy beyond 600 yards due to changes in current atmosperic conditions. personaly I use holdover to 500 then dial beyond that with the aid of a ballistic program and a lazer rangefinder.

I agree with you. If I was planning to shoot farther then 500yds. I would buy a scope for that purpose.
