Help me choose
I'm new but I've been reading posts here for a long time. I'm getting a new scope and I'd like to get some opinions on which of the following is the best buy:
Nikon Prostaff 3-9-40 for $170, Leupold VX1 3-9-40 for $200, Bushnell elite 3200 3-9-40 for $170.
I've narrowed it down to these three because I prefer to keep the cost around $200 and these are the scopes that I can get in silver (it has to look pretty on my stainless barrel of course).
I also might be able to get a Nitrex 3-9-42 in silver for $210...does anybody have any experience with these? The retail is more like $300 so I was thinking this might be the best deal, but I've never even seen one.
Thanks.

RE: Help me choose
I would opt for the 3200 elite myself. I'm not overly impressed with the VXI's, I have even heard some leupold fans say they are not that great for the money. The one thing it would have going for it is the waranty.
If you can look through each then decide. I will not buy optics whithout handling them first.
Never heard of Nitrex so I can't give an opinion on that.
I will add that I have a Mueller and am quite happy with it for the money. The Cabela's Alaskan Guide scopes are pretty nice as well.

RE: Help me choose
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the input.
The Nitrex is a somewhat new scope from the parent company of Federal Ammo. The only review I've seen said it was supposed to compete with the Nikon Monarch etc. market. That's a pretty big jump up in price (and possibly quality) from the other scopes I was looking at. From the other posts in this forum that I've read, I was kind of thinking that I would get a lot of recommendations for the Bushnell...and I was kind of leaning that way - but I sure hoped I'd hear from somebody who's looked at the Nitrex. If it really compares with the Monarch, $210 sounds like a steal! Thanks again.
