Millet scopes

Anyone have any experience with these... I'm thinking about the 1-4x24 dedicated marksman scope for my 30-30. Don't know much about Millet and want some feedback

Check out the reviews on AR-15.com and OpticsTalk.com. These scopes are considered to be a great value. I'm considering one for my 835.

I don't think I saw that particular scope on this site, but they have a lot of choices here:

RE: Millet scopes

I got one recently when Midway had them on sale for $199. I plan on putting it on my DPMS AP4 .308 for 3 gun matches.

I just got it mounted and haven't sighted it in yet. But I have made some observations.

Pros- Low price.
Has a lighted doughnut/dot reticle that is great for close and fast shots and not bad for long ones.
Easy to mount for eye relief on AR type weapons.
Looks good on the gun.

Cons-Glass is a bit distorted around the edges. I have heard of some sending them back and getting a replacement that has good glass. I may do that.
The lighted doughnut/dot washes out in bright sunlight. At least you can still see them, they just look black like when the illumination switch is off.
Kind of heavy for a small scope.

I got it for fun so if it holds zero, it will probably be worth it. If it doesn't, then at least it has a lifetime warranty............
