RE: Scope for 22 WMR.

Oh, by the way. Now this is just my opion, but I hate scopes with a 50 yd parallax. It is sometimes frustrating having a gun that will will shoot out to a 100yds, but its to blurry to see anything. I got some good groups at 50 yds with my 10/22 w/Bushnell rimfire 3-9(50yd parallax), unfortunately, everything is blurry after about 65 yds. A regular riflescope will probaly serve you better.

You have to forget regular 22 scopes for a .22 Magnum - because a .22 Magnum is more like a high power rifle than it is a regular .22 Rifle.

I have a 4 x 12 x 40 Simmons on one of my .22 Magnums and I have a Tasco 3 x 9 x 40 on the other.

Both are capiable of shooting one inch bulls eye's at 300 yards with the right ammunition.

A regular .22 is sighted in for 50 yards. A magnum can and will shoot 300 yards!

Using a .22 Magnum to shoot 50 yards would be like hunting rabbits with a 300 Winchester Magnum. Too much over kill.

Both would get the job done - but the .22magnum can and will do more than a regular .22!

I have a .17hmr that came with a Tasco Varmiter 2.5x10x42AO. While I have never been a fan of this scope manufacturer I can't say anything bad about this scope thus far. It fits the billfor the application of a plinker and small game rimfire. Scopeholds POI, tracks/optics decent & functions just fine- considering the price. Nota small scope though, looks fine onmy heavy barrel 17 IMO. Wholesale Sports use to stock these (possibly SIR does as well). For a boo, if interested.

Good Luck

Thanks guys for all the info. This is my first 22 mag. and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I have a Simmons Aetec 2.8 - 10 x 44 mm that just might do the job for NOW if it fits. Thanks Again...:D
