Scout Scope

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Scout Scopes. I have a m1 Garand and want to add a scope on her. I have the option of a side mount scope or a scout scope placed forward of the reciever. Since the scope would beabout 9 inches away from eye it would need to have a good amount of eye relief as well as maintain some magnification.

do any of you have any recommendations, experiences, or tips?

Thanks in Advance
Badger boy

Leupold makes a Scout scope it is a 2.5x28 IER and I think Burris makes one. not sure about the burris. I have been thinking about these for my 30-30 not too sure yet. Here's link to Leupold

+2 on the leupold. A guy I hunt with has one on a ruger in 300 wsm. He went through 2 el cheapos and then bought the leupold. It is very easy to pick up the target.
