Well guys I've narrowed it down to about three scopes. #1 Burris Signature Select 8-32x 44: #2 Nikon Monarch 6-24x50; #3 the Nikon buckmaster 6-18X40. And yes I am going quite a bit over my $350 limit.

I like the burris due the magnification, but as anything once you crank up the power it seems to darken you picture quite a bit, The Monarch is awesome, I like the side focus and interchangeable turrets- the optics seem very high quality and very clear. The buckmaster isn't quite into the power range that I wanted - you can deffinately tell a difference between it and the monarch but is that difference worth $200?

What would you guys do?
Depends on who ya talk to. Personally i had the same situation here a few months ago and i ended up getting the buckmaster, i couldnt justify spending another $300 on the monarch. The buckmaster has side focus, 1/8 moaand interchangeable turrets also. But its only "92%" instead of "95%).It goes/looks great on my 700 vls .204

I'd pick the Monarch. You won't need the extra magnification the Burris scope offers, the 24x is plenty for the little .22-250. The Monarch is a fantastic scope, if you can spring the extra cash that is the one i would pick.

I saw a Nikon Monarch at www.cdnninvestments.com it is a 6.5-20x44 with dual illuminated reticle and A.O selling for 449.99 NIB. I wouldn't buy a Buckmaster not with the monarch a little more and the Blurris well they don't have a very good track record when I use them. Good Luck. Other scopes you might want to consider are Sightron Big Sky and Weaver Extreme scopes. But that Nikon at CDNN is as good as it gets without spending a few hundred more.

The 6.5-20x44 was another one that I was looking at, but i found the Monarch 6-24x50 w/fine crosshairs NIb for 489. I also found the Buckmaster 6-18x40 w/niko plexfor $273 Nib. My biggest problem now is deciding if there is a big enough difference between the two to spend the $200+ more on the monarch. I'm kind of leaning more towards the monarch just because i really like the 50mm objective.

I got a 06 model nikon monarch 6.5-20X44 for 350 from nachez supply last year. You might have trouble finding deals, but they are out there.
