I haven't tried the Nikon, but they are generally good. However, the Elite series scopes are very good too. I prefer the 4200 over the 3200, but each will sure work. Last time I checked, you could get a 4200 3-9 X 40 for about $260. Now that's a steal. Good luck on your purchase.

One thing to remember with Nikon is that the scope's tube length (for mounting rings)is a little less than most scopes. If you have a long action rifle (i.e. the "old school" long action 30-06 bolt actions), you might have to get ring extensions. With Bushnell, among other scopes, you can mount it on anything.

I have owned several brands of scopes, and still own several different ones, but these days I buy onlyNikons. Price vs quality = value. I have not seen a scope out there that is clearer for less money. And that is not saying that it it all about the money...... I'm saying you have to take a big step up in cost to get any clearer of a scope. I just bought two more new Nikons. A new 4-16x42 and a 5-20x44.... both side focus and clear as can be.

I bought my first Nikons ( 2of them in 3-9x40) some 16 years ago, and both are still going strong, and look almost new. Neither move P.O.I. These last two brings my total # of Nikons to 8 . But, this is just my opinion and my history with them..... you will get as many different opinions as people you ask.... and I have never had a bad experience with them or any of their service.

That's why I bought Nikon. They are very nice for the price and they are very clear. I haven't ever looked at the Bushnell Eliete, but I do have a Buckmaster mounted on my .270 and I love it!!

I think the buckmasters are clearer, but the field of view seems too small on my Buckmaster 4.5-14x40. Works good at long range, but close shots make it tough to aquire targets. Just my opinion. Brett
