What scope for a Remington ML

Hi everyone....

I am kind of new to Muzzleloading.
Mydad recently bought me a Remington 700 50 Cal. muzzleloader.

I want to put a scope on it. I dont want a $400-$500 Leupold or anything....

What is a good scope for a muzzleloader at a fair price? Looking to spend under $250 (stop laughing, yes, I'm cheap)
Appreciate all the opinions and feedback/advice ya'all can throw at me.

Thanks!

Omega, probably about $260. They had some demo's on SWFA a couple of weeks ago for $190 or so.

You don't need to spend any more than that to get a high quality scope perfectly suited for a muzzleloader.I own these scopes listed below which can be had for less than 200 bucks. They all are warrented for life.

Nikon Buckmaster 3X9X40 on my T/C Omega and I really, really like it. It is very bright, rugged, and has held zero for three years now. I picked it up "used" on ebay for $140.00.

Burris Fullfield II 3X9X40 with a ballistic plex reticle. You can get it for about $200.00. I recently bought one on ebay for $145.00. Very bright, lifetime warrenty, rugged, fully multicoated.

Bushnell Elite 3200. I have the 4X12 on a .243 with ballistic reticle but you can get the 3X9X40 for around $200.00. It has all the features of the other two plus the raingard coatings that allow you to see a target even when the lens surfaces are fogged or wet from rain. This is a real technology breakthrough in hunting optics in my opinion. I hunted in the rain all day yesterday and was just amazed at how well I could see, even when I purposely fogged the ocular lens with my breath.

Another onethat I would definitely buy: Sightron SI or SII.

Hey Mark

Congrats on the new muzzleloader.
As far as scopes go I would suggest either a Bushnell Elite 3200 in 1.5-4.5 power or a nikon pro staff in 2-7 power.I have both of them and am pleased. The bushnell is more money and slightly clearer but both will work well.I prefer a lower magnification scope on my muzzleloader but its really a matter of personal preference.

i put a Bushnell Dusk & Dawn (3-9x40mm) shotgun/muzzleloader scope on my new smokepole this year. i think i only paid about $120.00 for it at Bass Pro. if you want, you can come over and ask the 6 point in my freezer how well it worked out.

I like low magnification and plenty of eye relief in a ML scope.
