Meopta Meostar R1 vs Sightron SII
Looking at another purchase, the Meopta Meostar R1 4-16X44 which looked nice and a Sightron SII 4-16X42 scope. Any experiences with either model? Anything I need to know, pros/cons etc? As always, all help and guidance is appreciated. Thanks in advance?

Is the extra cash worth the investment as far as the Meopta goes? I can get a good enough deal to score the Meopta for only $175 more than the Sightron actually. The 30MM tube on the Meopta is a big difference obviously.

Igot a new Sightron Big Sky 3-12x 42mm scope a few months back. So far it seems very nice, and has a lot of features. It’s light weight 13.40 oz., has ‘Climate Control Coating’ (similar to Bushnell’s ‘Rainguard’), ‘Exactrac’ (similar to Burris ‘Posi-Lock’), a one piece tube, Eye relief 3.9-4.1, and a large ocular lens. Sightron also advertises a ‘Lifetime Replacement Warranty’.
I have taken it to the range about 3 times now,and have been extremely happy with it.

I am pretty sure the Meopta Meostar is a better scope handsdown. I read aboutthe Sightron's Big Sky scope as having excellent resolution. But The meostar is better glass. What the sightron has is that it is so much scope for around 220 bucks. It beats every 200 dollar scope and most 350 dollar scopes out there. I have 1 sightron bino and a scope on my 300 mag.
Also the meopta binos are incredible bargains at under 800 bucks (Cabela's Euro)

Thats what I keep reading, the sightron is a good scope but the Meopta is better glass etc for a bit of a bigger money investment. It seems the word isnt out quiteyet on the Meopta brand. Those that have them, love them though from what I gather.
