Scout scope ??
 

I'm looking for a forward mounted scope I've seen a few in mags but they are HHHIIIIIIIIIGGGGHHHHH dollar scopes .I want one for for a beater rifle thats dedicated to 8" or less out at 100 sort of a high power transition rifle . I'll use it on an 8mm muaser 4x or maybe 6x will be more than enough.

I just had to try a scout setup on my Marlin 1895 45-70 guide gun, and I bought a Leupold 2.5x scout scope. I won't say that I "hated" it, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. To each his own.

A friend of a friend bought a ruger 300 wsm in a scout config. He went through 2 cheapo scopes in 2-3 months and then put a leupold on it. I am not sure, but maybe the barrel harmonics and vibrations rattle the scopes more than a standard mount. They look cool though and would probably work well for deer and hogs in thick cover.

My friend did a similar setup, and uses it time from time. Has no major complains. Tell me how it all goes.

I will make a pic post if I do it ,not 100% this is the route for me at the moment .
