New Sightron 'Big Sky' Scope
 

I just got a new Sightron Big Sky 3-12x 42mm scope. So far it seems very nice, and has a lot of features. It’s light weight 13.40 oz., has ‘Climate Control Coating’ (similar to Bushnell’s ‘Rainguard’), ‘Exactrac’ (similar to Burris ‘Posi-Lock’), and a one piece tube. Sightron also advertises a ‘Lifetime Replacement Warranty’.

I have not taken it to the range yet but I’ll keep you updated.

any updates? i've heard nothing but good things about Sightron and am curious about their performance.

I tried the scope out last weekendat the range. I was very happy with it. I mounted it myself on Leupold bases and rings, but did not have it bore sighted. An old timer showed my a trick that acturally works really nice. Set the rifle on sand bags on the 25 yard range, remove the bolt from the rifle, and aim at the target center while loooking straight down the barrel. When you get sighted on the target, look through the scope, then adjust the scope to the target. I tried that, and on my first shot at 25 yards I was 1 1/2" off bullseye. To make a long story short, withing a few minutes I was dialed in to bullsye at the 100 yard range.

So far I have no complaints. I actually did not realize that the Big Sky series had the 'Climate Control Coating' until after I bought it. Apparently Bushnell is not to happy about that option in Sightron's scopes.

good deal, glad your happy with it. keep us posted if anything goes wrong with it. i know there were a few of us on here curious about them.
