Nikon BDC recticle
Thinking of getting a Monarch with theBDC recticle, any positive or negative remarks. Thanks.

RE: Nikon BDC recticle
I heard that a new re-designed Nikon Monarch line is coming out this summer.

RE: Nikon BDC recticle
I too would also like to hear about the BDC reticle. Has anyone owned or used one. If so, did you like it? Would you buy another? Thanks in advance.

RE: Nikon BDC recticle
Yes. In my opinion the Nikon Monarch is the best scope you can buy that is in this price range. I love the ones that I have. They are clearer than the Leupold VXIII and cheaper.

RE: Nikon BDC recticle
I hope I like it because I went ahead and orderd a 6.5x16.5x44 Monarch with the BDC reticle. Got a good price through SWFA, $302. Original price was 4 something.

As far as the BDC. I am not sure I like mine. The way you got to use it is adjust the power to match the distance. In other words, you might put it to 12 power for 500 yards but 13.5 power for 400 yards for instance. I would rather have mildot. |

Bigcountry,
Just called home and mine just came in the mail, took 4 days. I have had good luck ordering from SWFA. |

Man, that is a good price!

RE: Nikon BDC recticle
I ordered a Monarch in 3x9x40 from SWFA on Monday and UPS has it scheduled to drop it off tomorrow. 3 days is not bad for a Monarch that costs $230 shipped. Hopefully it will work better on my sons New England Arms .243 which currently has a useless Tasco that lost its zero after 6 months.

RE: Nikon BDC recticle
I took it out of the box, looked at the reticle, read the iffy instructions on how to use the BDC reticle, put it back in the box and shipped it back the next day.

O.K. vadeerkiller, what didn't you like about it?

Not being smart... but what's new. I got several Swarovski TDS and mil-dot. I haven't found the perfect bullet drop compensation except for the IOR MP-8 I had and it is to busy for hunting. I usually put a BDC scope on a rifle for a specific load and calibrate it for 6X if it is 10X max. and 10X if it is 18X or greater. Make sense?

Its your money not mine. |
RE: Nikon BDC recticle
I'm back, like bigcountry said, have to use different power adjustments, and so forth,I'm no expert by any means and couldn't figure out if I sighted in at 10 power could I turn it up to 16 power and would impact still be the same, too complicated for this redneck.
