RE: cabelas rifle scopes

I bought a 4.5-14x44 Alaskan guide this Feb. I own many scopes that are both cheaper and way spendier. This is one of the clearest scopes I've looked through. In the short time I've owned it, it's become my favorite glass. For the money it's really hard to beat. I've heard many people say the Buckmaster is better for the money, but I have both and prefer the Cabela's. You won't be disapointed w/ these scopes. The only thing I would change is how large they are. I believe Pentax makes most of their scopes, but I'm not sure. Brett

RE: cabelas rifle scopes

I have one in 6.5-20x44 and love it. I compared it with several scopes in the 100 to 500 dollar range and liked it the best. I even compared it to a lower end leupold for almost 600 bucks and liked the Alaskan Guide scope better for less money.

I have asked them several times (cabela's) who makes their scopes for them and they say they don't even know. Cabela's buys from several different companies and it can vary in the same line up, like one model might be a Nikon and another might be a Pentax or something. And some are actually made for cabela's by the same plants that make the other big name brands.

Mine looks very similar to a Nikon. I found a model that looks almost exactly like the one I own.

They are high quality though and you can't beat the customer service.

Paul
