I couldnt agree more!!!! That is why I choose nikon, they have proven themselves in the field and on my bench.I have owned many a leupold and I never found anything they could do better. As far as Swavorski, I have a friend that swears by his PH series.Out in the field they are no better then my Monarchs. As a matter of fact my scope was better in many situations.I just dont see any advantage in the 800.00 to 1000.00 difference.I cant say longivity, have had one for 10 years on a 300wm,I cant say clearity, have compared them out in the field and see no problems. So where am I suppose to see the light going off and say I have to spend 1000.00 for my scope when I have the one that has proven its self to me!!!I have no experince with Ziess so I cant comment on them.I have 30 years of hunting experience so I think I can make good call on optics. Its just a matter of opinion what is the best for each of us in our own situation.

Leupold. Less in cost and guarenteed forever. Give great light and are durable. Many choices fromt hem and they all are good. The LeupoldRifleman scopes are cheaper, but like its more expensive big brothers, it is same in quality. Check it out!

Well, I can't believe I am in complete agreement with Stubblejumper, but I am. The rifleman is not the same quality as the other Leupold scopes. It is fair to say it is a decent scope, and like other Leupold's is backed by Leupold's famous, no questions asked, lifetime warrenty. As an entry level scope, it is a decent scope, nothing more, nothing less.

Nikons have the same lifetime warranty.

German Crap??!!! You've obviously never owned a German scope. Don't knock it until you've tried it my friend. I promise you, if you own one, it will be the one you love the most.My optic of choice isthe Schmidt Bender. True, you can equip several of your rifles with good scopes for what you will pay for one SB, but you do get what you pay for.

You cannot beat the Nikon Monarch for the price. I really can't tell any difference in it and the Zeiss Conquest. They have impressed the heck out of me. I own more Nikons than anything else.
