eye sight
 

Hi Everyone, I've had cataract surgury on both eyes within the last 5 years. I have found it true from the doctor that my eyes will have lost the natural ability to focus. What has happend is I can no longer see both the front and rear sights together on my open sight guns. I have scopes on about half of them so I'm able to keep enjoying hunting. The implants they put in has given me better than 20/20 vision for distance which is great but I've had to rely on bifocals to read. Has anyone else had this issueand if so what have you done? Scoped all your open sight guns? Thought I'd ask this question here in the optics section. Thanks


I'll aslo add, this really sucks with my handguns.

I just had LASIK 2 weeks ago. I went from 20/40 and 20/50 to 20/15 in both eyes. I can now see far and near without anything.

I don't think Lasik is a option for me. They cutthe side of both my eyes and incerted small plastic disks made to my prescription. I'd still have the focusing problem.

I would say that if you can not see the front and rear sights on open sights at the same time then scoping your firearms makes sense. You could also consider red dots or halo sights for some firearms as well.
