rangefinder?

Get a Leica, yes a little more today but better than buying another one later. I have a bushnell pro scout and leica 900. Guess which one I use the most? Optics and red LED are so much nicer then bushnell. Once you get a LRF it will be like a knife and tags to you, will you use it all day no but I bet it will come out daily, in a instant you can have positive yard markers before the game even arrives!! I have a Bushnell Yardage Pro Scout, I would call it a pretty good affordable rangefinder, but if you plan to use it for long range rifle hunting, it only reads on deer size game to about 300 yards. It will range the dirt beside the deer but not to deer beyond that. I have looked at the new Leica and that thing is in a league of it's own(butpricey). I have also used a friends Nikon Monarch 800, I believe it's a little better than my Bushnell, it is a lot faster in taking a reading and the optics seem a little more sharp.

I have a Leica 1200 and a pair of Swarovski Laser Guides. Both are great RF's, the optical clarity of the Laser Guide are simply better than the Leica IMHO but the Leica's are much faster in ranging a target, probably due to a smaller aiming point are a better receiver. Since getting my 1200, Leica has come out with a smaller version I would reccomend checking them out. You wont be disappointedasalready stated above. The Swarovski takes a not so common 3V battery while the Leica's use a common 9V battery than you can get most anywhere in a pinch.
