Currently using a pair of Zeiss 10x40 Classic's and a pair Swarovski SLC 10x42's. Both are great sets of glass.

Like stubblejumper, I usually grab the Zeiss....... they have taken a beating though my travels and been with me for longtime never letting me down.

RE: What binoclairs do u use?

My binos all are German
My 8x32's are Eschenbach Sektor D 8x32
My mid sized are Optolyth Alpin 10x50 with the ceralin coating
My big ones are Docter Optik Nobilem 15x60.

All are good glass. The Eschenbach and optolyth have good eye relief aloowing me to use them with my glasses on. The Docters require me to take my glasses off.

Wind River by Leupold. 8x25

Best $80 I've spent on hunting yet! They're low powered, but amazingly crisp and clear in the woods. Let in lots of light too!

LOVE 'EM!!!!!!!!!! [8D]

Man I tell you what, I use $15 Wal-Mart tascos. And I'm not ashamed to admit it even though I'm the kind of guy who knows there's simply no subsitute for quality. The thing is, those cheapos do what I need 'em to...and since I'm in college and don't live out west where a good pair of glasses is essential I can't justify spending 10X that price for something that will "do it better" when I already have something that will "do it good enough".

I have a pair of Swift 8.5x44 Audubon HHS roof-prism binoculars that I picked up cheap in a pawn shop. They retail at $300-400, but I paid a small fraction of that. At dawn and dusk they really show their stuff. I love 'em.

I gotta say, though, I have a pair of $30 Simmons 10x50 porro prisms that are amazingly good. I use them for backyard birdwatching, and they're great for that. Plus, in low light they are incredibly good. (Laugh all you want, they work.)

On the other hand, I boughta pair of Barska 12x50 roof prisms that don't focus. They make a nice paperweight. Maybe some day I'll send 'em in for repair/replacement.

I broke down and bought a pair of Kahles 10x42 from SWFA. I am disappointed becasue they just don't seem to focus quite right atinfinity. THe best way to discribe it is it seems like the focus ring should turn maybe just alittle more to get that sharp focus I get at closer distances

I have a set of Vipers as well in 10x42 and I love them. For the price they're a very good bino - very clear and great in low light.

Brunton Epics 10.5x43. I got a heck of a deal on them and couldn't pass them up. Normal price is around $1350(stores around south east Idaho)for these bino's and I got them for under $1000 (dealer price) and with store credit from the archery shop I work part time at. I have compared them to other top end glass, and they hold their own very well. I have a friend who owns the new swaraski EL's$1800 and I can honestly say I don't feel he has a advantage while hunting/scouting or bird/wildlife watchingat all over my binos. The Epics have a lifetime warrenty as do many other top end binos. This is a pic of the brunton Epics taken from their website for those who have never heard of brunton before.

I've used Wind River 8x32 Bino/Range Finder combo for the past 2 years.
They work great and I only have tocarry one think instead of a bino and range finder.

Zeiss 8x42 FL's. Got 'em for $1150 as a SHOT show demo, vs. the $1600 retail.

They made a huge difference on my trip to BC, & I'm glad I was able to spend the $ on 'em.

I just won a pir of IOR Valdata 10x40 porro prism binos on ebay. 200 bucks. They are made in Romania and use Schott glass (like Zeiss). I seem to have a penchant for off brand European binos.
I have 3 Eschenbachs, 1 Optolyth, one Zeiss Jena (from east germany) and now a Valdat from Roamania. I hope to get a pair of Russian army 10x40 rubber coated soon
Will let you know how the Romanian binos stack up.

It depends on the situation. I am quite fond of my 8x32 Leica Trinovids for daytime use but for lower light levels then either my Nikon Venturer 8x42s or my Meopta Meostar 8x42s.
