SENIOR HUNTER CLASS SURVEY

I have heard that the IBO is going to have a survey/poll at the 1st leg of the National Triple Crown (Bedford In.) on adding the SHC in the furture. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

We are planning on polling the shooters at the National Triple Crown about several things. The potential Senior Hunter Class will be one of them.

Hey Ken,

Thanks for the reply. Will the surveys be taken at all of the National Triple Crowns or just one, or will different questions be asked at each National shoot? Also would it be practical to have the State Reps poll thier states on these questions. Thanks again for the info.

RE: SENIOR HUNTER CLASS SURVEY

Ken,

Only taking the survey at the national shoots narrows the pool of shooters. Plus there could be duplications. I believe Bos is on to something. The IBO could send out survey forms to state reps, via email or snail mail, then they survey all shooters at their state championship shoot. Each member polled records their IBO# the survey is then mailed back to the IBO office for talley. Using the IBO # and the right data program you could eliminate double surveys. This would provide a more of a national grass roots response.

I'm willing to help out with this effort.

Tom

ps: I'm all for SHC starting at 55.

RE: SENIOR HUNTER CLASS SURVEY

In the past we have sent surveys to the members. Very few respond. Sending out surveys to anyone and having them get responses takes much of the anonimity out of the survey.
We have found several times that a way a person answers a question in a fashion that his or her response is known can be different than one where the answer is anonymous (sp).
No poll is going to be completely accurate or anonymous. Any question practically, causes a bias of one way or another.
We get the direction or the desires of the group pretty clearly. Sometimes it is not the direction assumed in a conversation held in the parking lot, but when you ask a question that effects an individual and his buddies aren't looking over his shoulder he answers the way he or she thinks and not how his more vocal friend wants.
We do have a pretty good feeling for the direction on this issue already but want to see the impact.

how about 50 or older, change the stabilizer rule and up the entry fee for a cash payback. never to have been a semi pro or pro shooter in any divison.

RE: SENIOR HUNTER CLASS SURVEY

This sounds like a very good idea. It lets the shooters decide the outcome of their class. The only thing that I cant understand is why someone would let someone else influence how they vote. I no this happens, I just dont understand why? Vote how you feel, not how your buddy thinks you should. I think were all a little old to let peer pressure bother us. Chris Callison, Ibo#66780

I think the over 50 etc. sounds good. I'd be up for it in a few years. I shoot MBR right now and the targets keep getting fuzzier and smaller every year.
