Blazer Vanes? For IBO Shoots

In the hunter class I know it says 4" vanes, but since the Blazer vanes have come out, and used alot by hunters, will they be allowed in the hunter class?

If you allow everything that some may use on their hunting rig, then the class would become an "open" with 35 yd max.

Many people hunting use 4 inch vanes and many more are using different length vanes. 4inch seems to be the length that best fits the known majority of hunters. I for one use either 4, three inch vanes fletched 75/105 or 6 2.5in vanes for fixed broadheads. There are things for each hunter that he feels comfortable with in the field and if that what works for an individual than he has that choice. When you start shooting competition in a class that has equipment restrictions it is usually based on what is most favored by the known majority.
With the progression of equipment many things take time to get to the masses and a few people will expierence things that help their equipment perform better. As this number grows and the equipment changes are proven it becomes more evident to all that some changes may benefit the majority even in competition.
Many of the hunting equipment improvements originate on the competitive field.

Until a rule change is proposed and passed by the board, 4 inch means 4 inch, period. Maybe your bow shoots better with 3 inch ? Maybe your bow shoots faster with 3 inch ? It should ! I know alot of hunters are using shorter fletch now, especially those using expandable broadheads. Does your bow really perform that much better with the 3 inch or are you simply looking to gain more speed ? I would have to say, stick to the rules as they are now and see if they are changed in the future. Kind of the same as the guy who knows the 8X rule for binos but shows up with 10X or 12X because he likes them better ! A definite no-no.

Just asked a question. Didn't expect to get flamed

Didn't mean to come off as flaming anyone, just hate to see anyone DQ'ed at a shoot. A good friend of mine burns his own feathers and his bow is tuned and sighted in for these fletchings. Only problem is they end up being about 3 5/8 inches when finished and they are not legal for this class.
