How can I get information or plans for the construction of a 3-D course. I am new to this aspect of archery and I really enjoy it. I would like to build a course. I have about 85 acres to build a course on, but would like to do it right the first time with reguard to lay out, targets, safety, etc...

my suggestion is to help out at a local range, and gain experience. i know of no books, or articles that deal with layout.
look at every target in a 360 degree radius. remember that every miss has to go somewhere, so give yourself plenty of room for misses and glance offs. keep your lanes clear and unobstructed. make the range challenging, and keep the shooters attention. no-one likes a boring range. a good rule of thumb is if you are shooting a movable sight, keep it moving. change yardages at every stake. keep the people fed, and keep plenty of drinks on hand. a good thing for a local club is to set 3 10 target ranges, it helps with concessions and keeps people fed and hydrated. hope this helps.
