Will the ranges at Pensacola be set up in the same manner as Rome? Will they be in 20 target segments as in Wetumpka or 10 target segments as in Rome? I would like to shoot 30 on Friday if they are setup in 10 target segments. If not I will shoot 20 on Friday and 20 on Saturday. Thanks.

i dont know about the ranges in fla, but the one in rome was outstanding......no backups at all....we saw a lot of shooters, but very rarely had to wait more than just allowing them to return to the stake to gather up equipment and move to the next target.
one 20 target and two tens would work out great, but i still like the 4 ten target ranges. it allows the shooters and the host club a lot of control. sending groups out to the ranges in a flow so to speak.

I could not agree with you more Keith, Shooting 10 target segments really made it a smooth and less stressful shoot. It also gives the shooters a lot more choices on how many targets that they want to shoot in a given day. I went ahead and shot 20 on Friday and 20 on Saturday and liked that okay. I talked to several that shot 30 on Saturday and the final 10 on Sunday. Each shooter can decide how they want to shoot them and how many they shoot to keep from getting tired. I hope they will consider this for Pensacola as well. I would like to shoot 30 on Friday and 10 on Saturday and relax for the rest of the weekend. I will shot it regardless of the format. Look forward to shooting with everyone in a couple of weeks...

Just got an email from Levy Bryant. He said that he too liked the 10 target segments and was leaning in that direction. He is going to talk with Ken I believe and settle a few minor details and try and do the same format as the Rome shoot. Until then have a great Easter everyone and I look forward to seeing all of my new IBO friends in Pensacola...

I do like the option of shooting 10 or 20 whatever you have time for. My only suggestion is if the same group is staying together to shooti 20 straight it should be an option to stop only once per 20 targets to do the official score recording. Signing all the cards and getting with the official scorers at the little hut took about 15 to 20 mintues per 10 target range. So for 20 targets it was 30 to 40 minutes. On the F&G ranges we did not stop between ranges and it sped things up a ton.

I agree with you Brian, If you are going to shoot 20 targets it would speed things up to be able to shoot 20 non stop if the group chooses to do so. The range officials can verify cards at the end of 20 as good as 10.I think that 10 target segments do give people a lot of choices on how they want to shoot the course. If I feel good I have and will shoot 40 in a day. Sometimes though I could use a break between 10 target segments. If the temperature is really hot and humid, as you know it can get in the south, then I would take any breaks I can get.(LOL) See you in Pensacola. Hope for good weather like we have had today, sunny and 70's with a nice breeze blowing.

The option to shoot 10 at a time with a short water/dewater break is the best option. Especially if you stay hydrated in the warmer weather. I really enjoyed the setup in Rome. Hoyt, can't believe you were at the Holiday Inn and I didn't get to meet you. My daughter and I had a wonderful time at the shoot and in the pool at the hotel. We'll be in P'cola next weekend. Hope to see you and AR there. Cheers.

Sorry that I did not get to meet you either. The holiday inn was great! pool and prime rib buffet were just an added bonus. As it stands right now, I am going to shoot Friday morning andSaturday morning. I will shoot at least 20 targets on Friday or 30 if I am feeling pretty good. I hope to see you there. Just a few days away now....
