RE: 8.5 Binoculars (yes or no) (Ken)
I see many on the IBO ranges that are using 10X now, and no one is saying anything to them about it, so why not up it to 10X. I walked thru the ranges in AL and GA and saw many using 10X binoculars, saw them
at the sign up table with them, and were appointed groups and ranges wearing them while IBO officials checked them in and sent them out.
Must not be an iron clad rule anyway

Random check ? What ever happened to checking bow weights, weighing arrows, etc, before you start ? Was this only done at the Worlds afew years ago ? Besides, binos should be the least of IBO's worries . What about the buddies that shoot together and then fill out their scorecards while sitting on the tailgate of a pickup ? Maybe IBO is breaking groups this year, I haven't been to any shots yet ?

Bow weights, arrow weights should be checked by a trigger score.
If you shoot at or above this score, you get your gear checked.
I believe this will be followed much more closely this year.
It's a little tough to believe someone sat on their tailgate and filled out there score cards. I'm trying to figure how they did that and got them turned in to the check points.
But I do agree that we will need to break groups better this year.

Don't like binoculars? Don't use them. I checked the IBO rules and nowhere does it state you must use binoculars. I'll continue to use mine for both 3D and hunting.

With the new antler restrictions here in Pa, you better use binos or be ready to paya fine ! Either that or grunt them in to where you can reach out and measure to make sure the points are all 1 inch or over. A ??, unless you already owned 8.5X , why would you buy them if the rule says 8X ?
