Alabama Shoot

Did anyone on here shoot the first leg of the Southern Triple Crown( The Alabama Shoot)? I am looking to know what to expect as weather. Hot, warm, or cold. Terrain as in flat or hilly, uphills or down hills, woods or fields. Just looking for info. Thanks Bowjunkie

Weather could be anything. Hopefully 72 and sunshine. But count on anything.
Terrain is rolling, wooded, ridges, valleys, etc. Nothing to severe.

I agree with Ken. You may have to pack like the people on Gilligans Island. Bring enough clothes for a month for a 2 day trip. I would bring everything from shorts and short sleeves to long johns and turtle necks to rain gear. Last year in Valley we had it all. Nice & sunny one day. Cool and windy the next, Cold and rainy for the final.

RE: Alabama Shoot

I thought the weather was very nice last year for the shoot , but on the way home we got caught in one of the biggest ice storms Kentucky has ever seen .
Will the shoot be in the same place this year ? Can anyone give me a mailing address for the shoot site ( internet map ) ?
Thanks
Scott

I live here in Alabama and must agree with the other posts so far. The weather can be anything from the 20's as it is now or the sunny 60's or anything in between. I talked with a very nice lady from Bennett's Archery in Wetumpka on the phone and she tole me that the shoot is going to be held at Camp Chandler above WEtumpka and just above Bennett's Archery near Lake Jordan. You can find their website by typing in camp chandler into your search engine and it will give you directions there. It is located on Jordan Dam Rd. just off old U.S. 231. It is a YMCA camp and should be a beautiful location for the shoot. Have a good day and hope to see all of you there!
