RE: Southern Triple Crown
I just back from Gainesville and the ASA pro am and alot of people were talking about it. I am betting that turnout will double from last year.
Don't forget the STC warm up at Ft Benning Archery range south of Columbus, GA this weekend (2-17-02). for info check www.homestead.com/wwwsoutheasternarchery |
RE: Southern Triple Crown
Brian - What is the address of the shoot? I need to get a map from our hotel to the shoot location. We'll be arriving Friday afternoon. Thanks!

RE: Southern Triple Crown
The Heart of Dixie Range is on Judge Brown Rd. I don't know the actual street address. If Mapquest etc doesn't help you let me know. If you give me your hotel I can probably tell you how to get there. It is very easy to find.

RE: Southern Triple Crown
Brian - How about directions from the Holiday Inn in Valley?
Thanks!! |
RE: Southern Triple Crown
I cannot picture the Holiday Inn. But, there are only two Valley exits. One is Valley/Lanet. The one the shoot is off of is Valley/Hughley.
From I-85 south (most of the hotels are off the Valley/Lanet exit so you have to go south 1 exit) take the Valley/Hughley exit. Turn left and cross I-85. Go to the first light and turn right. Go to 1st light again and turn right (Givorns grocery store on right). Take your first right on Judge Brown Rd. The range is 1-2 miles up on the left. |

RE: Southern Triple Crown
If it is anything like today it will be beautiful. I put on a wind breaker/rain coat type deal this morning going to Ft Benning to work on the course. All I had under it was a t-shirt. I was sweating like a dawg before long. It is a perfect day. Sunny and very warm. Ya'll come on down.

RE: Southern Triple Crown
Cujo,
If you shoot MBO then you shoot the orange stake which has a 50 yard max. The pros shoot the Blue stake which also has a 50 yard max. Last year we were always 5 to 7 yards ahead of the blue stake. Well, Rome, Ga was the only exception. We (MBO) had some 48 yarders. Don't rely on the pro stake never being over 50 but it won't happen alot. There was one shot in Rome where I was about 6 to 7 yards ahead of the blue stake. I kept judging around 48 to 50 yards. I looked back and said there is no way the pros are shooting beyond 55 yards. So, as quick as I am, I shoot it for around 44-45 and get a low 8. I asked a pro later and they said yeah they shot it for a full 56 yards. I have heard that the IBO told Heart of Dixie not to stretch this thing out too bad since a lot of new folks will be trying the IBO. Also I do know that Dan Hart is helping with the course set up so expect a thinking mans course. We'll see ya'll there. Should be a blast. |
RE: Southern Triple Crown
