How good do you have to shoot to win or finish in the top 10??...LMK Please.

lets just say finish in the top 20, that will get you qualified for the world shoot at snowshoe mountain. you absolutely must shoot very well.....you will be shooting against some of the best shooters anywhere, if you are shooting at one of the ibo national shoots. there is little margin for error, and a bad mistake can make the difference between 3rd place and 133 place......

if you are shooting local 3d shoots, the same rule apllies if there are accomplished shooters in your area. work hard on yardage estimation first, then practice with your bow. shooting the bow is the easy part of the sport. the mental toughness will come with experience. 90% mental, 9% physical, 1% luck......

Hey there BowhuntingMachine.......So you wanna know how good you have to be to win or finish in the top 10:D.......Well, you' ve got the judge yardage and execute the shot better than most of the people in your division.:D[8D]

But the Rob don' t think you need to worry about winning or lossing, rather learn where your skills need more work. Shoot the very best you can and don' t worry about the rest. This thing is about having fun and improve one' s self. As the Rob says " If you got the game, you' ll get the fame" .:D[8D] So just " let' er rip, tater chip" .[&:]:D[8D]

Bedford: HC = 425 1st, 406 10th, MBO = 414 1st, 406 10th

Erie: HC = 421 1st, 416 10th, MBO = 418 1st, 404 10th

Nelsonville: HC = 411, 1st, 406 10th, MBO = 415 1st, 404 10th

I havent shot IBO, but I have shot ASA, and I know form shooting ASA you stand a better chance at IBO winning than you do In ASA.SO I will enjoy a break from those 5 o clock 12 rings and 7 o clock 12 rings, I love to hit Pin wheel 10's much safer.But more so, You need to enjoy it first then worry about where ya place when the shoot is over, dont think about it so much that you lose track of why ya doing it,You must enjoy it first, then take what ya learn in 3D the the woods and enjoy the real sucess.And if you win In IBO, well thats just icing, on the cake. Better than most of us ever will! I shot the best I have ever shot at IBO Worlds in 98 and 2000 in the trophy round and was only 5th and 6th! There is always someone who has a better weekend than you do! Finished 3rd at an ASA pro-am in 2000, blew 2nd on the last shot and then found out that a guy blew us all away by 17 points or something like that. Consistency is a big factor, you have to put 2 really great days back to back to stand a chance. At the ASA shoots I usually shoot the team shoot on Friday so I shoot 3 days in arow and usually have a bad day along the way that kills any chance of winning it all.

I shoot both ASA and IBO and in most classes it is easy to place well and win in the ASA. Most ASA classes are roughly about half the size of IBO classes. Take for instance the IBO's MBO class 350-400 shooters per contest. The ASA breaks their open classes up in to A, B, & C all roughly holding 125-150 shooters. So math will dictate that you have a much better shot of beating 125 shooter verse 350 shooters. But as far as quality of shooters, it is all the same most top shooters shoot both and the ones that don't are replaced with a local top guns.

ok my reasoning for will be easier for me, is at asa shoots you shoot for 5 oclock 12's and 7 oclcok 12's, so center 10's will be easier for me, thats all i was sayin. I also plan on shooting asa in open b class inthe world, so I still shoot for those asa 12's, but i wanted to get back to basics some in my hunting bows, and have some fun.
