RE: HC PRIZES
What are the hunter class prizes? and who receives them?
I shot this yr. for 1st time in HC and was not familiar with any of the awards? Do some other than finalists receive something or is this post talking about trophy class? Thanks, WBS |
RE: HC PRIZES
WBS,
Purse money from HC is place in a prize program and distributed throughout the class by way of the Lewis Handicap system. ( I think I got that name right) Essentially, if they had 100 shooters and 10 prizes, every 10th shooter down the line would get something. The exact amounts will depend on the total amount in the purse for this year, the total number of shooters, and the creative deals available. Last year, the available purse was expanded by negotiated purchase of Cabela' s Gift certificates. This year I' m not yet sure of the final outcome, since as Ken indicated above, they are still in the middle of the process. Anyway you look at it there will soon be several very happy people. |
RE: HC PRIZES
It would be nice this year if the prize money for the gift certificates could go to one or more of the sponsors of the IBO like Coffee, Lancaster or someone active in the IBO.

RE: HC PRIZES
I got a nice surprise today. A gift card from The IBO for Bass Pro Shops. Guess I shot just poorly enough to get the Lewis money.[:o]

RE: HC PRIZES
Phil, that' s good news, congratulations!!
For anyone who doesn' t realise it Bass Pro Shop is a major sponsor for the coming season. Additionally, it appears we will have Realtree and Suzuki also on board as well as others. So as the season approaches, remember to support Lancaster, Coffey, and all of those organizations who in turn support us. A listing of the 2003 sponsors is in your yearbook or as a link from the IBO home page. Someone in that list can surely fill your hunting or holiday buying needs. And if you have trouble spending that gift card just let me know. My list of want/needs is quite extensive this year. I' m here to help.;) |
RE: HC PRIZES
It is good to know that the prize list is complete and on the way. I don' t shoot in that class but congratulations to the receipants of the gift certificates.
It would be nice also to know where it was published and otherwise stated that we were going to have any new sponsors this year especially by name. Is this on a different part of the forum or is this information for a privelaged few. Is the sponsor link complete and up to date? |
RE: HC PRIZES
Fastfletch,
I am just getting ready to mail out Sponsor Packets to our current Sponsors and hopefully new sponsors. So as of right now, yes the 2003 Sponsor list is up to date. We don' t change that until we are into 2004. Just for everyones info, part of the IBO Sponsorship is to allow our Sponsors to give part of their Sponsor Fee in their merchandise (Bronze level are offered to give all in merchandise). The merchandise we receive from them is what you may receive by shooting our Bowhunter Defense Ranges, or from the IBO/McKenzie raffle, or Silent Auction we were doing at the Nat. Triple Crown. So all of these are ways to get our Sponsor Merchandise out to you, the Bowhunters. :) Judy |
