RE: Total Number of Shooters
Ken, you might want to recheck your figures because I just sat down and went through all of the classes in both the money and trophy rounds for the years 2002 and 2003. Here are the figures. 2002 2002 2002 2002 2002 2002 2002 2002 2002 2002 2002
money round--2151 shooters Trophy round--485 shooters TOTAL----------2636 shooters MBO--493 MBR--209 HC---398 Just to name the three classes with the highest number of shooters. Trophy MBO--88 Trophy HC----174 Just to name two. 2003 2003 2003 2003 2003 2003 2003 2003 2003 2003 2003 money round--2093 shooters trophy round---553 shooters TOTAL----------2646 shooters MBO--427 MBR--225 HC----442 Trophy MBO--87 Trophy HC----200 So in a nut shell, there were 58 less shooters this year(2003) who participated in the money round. And there were 68 more shooters this year who participated in the trophy round. Total of 10 more shooters this year then the previous year. |
RE: Total Number of Shooters
And if anybody was wondering; I did count all of the zeros.

RE: Total Number of Shooters
See there ya go. Leaving out the FBH shooters.
Do not forget them. We are still looking to come up with the same list that Snowshoe has from registration. Our data posted is from results. Different programs on different systems. ken12 |

On recount I came up with the same figures your did. FBH class does not have any bearing on the total competitive figure to me as it is a class where they are all winners now and in the future date we hope. I too have done the figures for my own curiosity. These figures tell many things that are not always appaarent. The total figure for each class and division only tells you how many were there this time. I think that I can see trends and changes that are taking place when you compile enough figures. The figures are only one part of the analysis. There are many other things that are happening that must be added in to get a true picture. Two days of shooting is a small part of the picture but it is part of the overall picture and the shape of what is happening and where an organization is headed. The IBO is a young organization by comparison but the early beginings often shape the future. The disappointmen expierenced by many many people were a big disappointmen regardless of the cause. This being the second year of such a disappointment only added to the negative side. It is now up to the BOD and the President to devise a plan that will give back some assurance that such plans will make things better next year and in future years to come more progress will be made to correct as much as possible all the things that can be corrected. When such a plan has been devised making each and every member that competes in an IBO even aware of such plans is absolutely essiential. In my 48 year of shooting I have seen many organizations rise and fall. Events like the happenings at the World scare me for that reason and I think that any time an archery organization of any size fails we all loose. IMHO |
RE: Total Number of Shooters
Not shooter count, but since the shoot moved from Clymer to Snowshoe, one thing I have noticed is more and more NON shooters there. Families, kids etc. This didn' t make sense at Clymer, it wasn' t " family friendly" , Snowshoe is. Personally I like that aspect of it, turns it into a family vacation, more than just a shoot. Both last year and this year we brought the kids, one of didn' t shoot, but between pools, mini-golf, horse back riding etc, nobody was bored, this year they added the nightly movie which I thought was GREAT. --Bob |
