A $HIT LOAD OF EXPERTS HERE
thats right.....everyone sure does know how to speak their mind and say how it should have been.....
yet your all probably the same folks that were whinning at nelsonville for a code red not being called.... or worse yet....you would have probably liked to have someone get killed out there at snowshoe, so you could come on here and tell us all how smart you " WOULD" have been by calling everyone in, and not sending them back..... it really amazes me that people think because they pay a membership fee to join a organization, it gives them the right to run it....or like that organization is obligated to cater to " THEIR" wants and needs.....do you really think the IBO is not looking out for the best interest of all???? if your butt was on the line for not only 2700 shooters welfare and safety....not too mention, if your butt was in charge of " INSTANT" rearrangement of 2700 shooters....i doubt you would have....or could have done any better than the IBO already did.....the IBO acted pro-actively instead of making a re-active(after someone got hurt or killed)....now because the weather pattern didnt fully come into play after the decision was made....you want to crusify the IBO for putting safety before SORRY....... sure there may have been a chain of events that " looked" like one action was inconsistant with another.....but really, after the mob scene that happened....im sure many things happened out of pure mutiny by the masses....... one thing all you experts can do.....start your own IBO club, and show the rest of us how to do it the RIGHT WAY.....and by all means....im sure your club would have greater attandence than the club you currently shoot at...cause you' ve got all the right spontanious answers...... and guess what to all you experts....im a ASA guy:D;)[&:][X(]...but i sure do recognize a mutiny when i see one....yet how many of you have actually hosted or dealt with any number of demanding people like the ones on that mountain???? i know i never want to.....and to think...i was even thinking about attending all the ibo' s next year....but im afraid to now....might get stuck out there on some course or worse get called off one due to circumstances beyond control...only to have some " expert" go postal out there......so maybe i better stick to the good ole ASA...or even better...stay indoors where the elements have no effect....and the twinkie trays are always within arms reach.....;):D buck up boys and girls...its almost time to take to the woods....we all came home from the moutain to live and shoot another day....who knows...next time it may be the duo sending yall home pissed off from the whippings on the ranges we regularly supply.....if yall like to live in anger...come and take the duo challenge...the pain and suffering doesnt last nearly as long as the snowshoe pain...but its delivered right in front of your eyes..... IBO.....THE DUOS NEXT CONQUEST |

ASA-Tie,
We' re trying to convert the IBO masses over to the ASA and you' re going Deadly-Duo on these folks.[>:] For the record though my bus driving friend no one yet has complained about getting called off the hill. I' ve read every post and haven' t seen anyone complain about that, so don' t go Democrat and say that what they are sayng is something other than what is being said so you can put a different spin on what the real beef is. The real beef is that no one got to go back out and finish!!! Of course you probably didn' t start shooting on Sat at the IBO thing because you don' t get out in the rain. I' ve seen that first hand[8D] |
RE: A $HIT LOAD OF EXPERTS HERE
sorry obt, didnt realize that we are not allowed to voice our opinions on this site.
many of us feel things could have been handled differently.and as far as safety, i was probably more likely to be ran over by a moron in a deisel chevy pickup on saturday than to be hit by lightning.not all of us own car dealerships, so a weekend like last is very costly, and makes us wonder if the whole weekend was worth it. glad ken has people like you on his side. as for me, this is one expert, that won' t be back at snowshoe. |
RE: A $HIT LOAD OF EXPERTS HERE
bowtie,
I started to read this rambling but recognized it for what it was and stopped. I' m sure that had it been in person that we were making contact you would demonstrate your ability to shoot off your mouth and your inability to shoot your bow. I will not go any further with this thread because it would only give credit to the fact that you are a self appointed xpert. X= being the unknown factor, pert= being a drip under pressure. Give my sympathy to the ASA regarding your membership. |
RE: A $HIT LOAD OF EXPERTS HERE
OBT your absolutly right, not a decision I would want to make. When something goes wrong it is to late. Ken you did the right thing, your screwed if you do and your screwed if don' t. Or we are better off than sorry. OBT one thing IBO still rules, it rains and thunders but IBO rules. One Big Toe and Dumdeer the season is over and winter is coming so keep me laughing until spring. Good luck to everyone and let it pass. Maybe Ken and crew can get together here soon and think of a way to keep everyone happy( GOOD LUCK). I have a few ideas, but I' m not saying unless someone asks. Keep it together IBO you build it and they will come.

RE: A $HIT LOAD OF EXPERTS HERE
OBT if anyone has a right to " GO POSTAL" I guess it is a postal worker like me! I take issue with one thing-I do not believe IBO acted proactively. Being proactive would have included SOP' s for various scenarios-they didn' t have them. So I believe they reacted and that is my problem with the issue. I do not believe they had a game plan ahead of time and for an event of this nature that is wrong. Nobody is perfect, but I think there should be an SOP that everybody knows and understands. I am not bashing anyone, but I do believe that some problems have serviced and they need to be addressed. Some of these posts get carried away, but some can be extremely useful. I would urge everyone to get their two cents in. As dues paying members that is our right. I would think that everyone should be truthful, say what you think, but say it in an appropriate manner. The goa[:o]l is too fix problems and improve the organization. Hopefully two heads are better than one and some great ideas will show up and keep me from " Going Postal"

RE: A $HIT LOAD OF EXPERTS HERE
hey, ASS-TIE iam not sure whats the asa is like but were iam from if you pay dues to an organization they are supposed to at least act like they are listening to you.i wouldnt have wanted to make the call that the ibo had to make.but you would think after last year their would have been a plan for this.the way i look at this is its nobodys fault but mine that i didnt shoot well enough on friday to get to shoot on sunday.one thing that does bother me is that the future bowhunters shoot got screwed up and some kids were called twice to receive prizes while my 4yr old sat their waiting to be called and never was. try to explain that to a 4yr old. hey iam not blamen that on the ibo when ken watkins saw that some kids were being called twice he told the parents not to send their kids a second time. but that didnt stop most of them from doing it anyway.anybody that was at the future bowhunters shoot knows what iam talking about.ken watkins did call all the kids that were not called for prizes up front to get their addreses and told them they would receive something in the mail. iam not blamen this on the ibo but if you are a parent of one those kids who received two prizes while other kids received nothing what kind of message are you sending to your kids.
