RE: flag/stake question
I think you should have to touch it where it stands!

RE: flag/stake question
Crackshot, The tactic in question involves unsportsmanlike conduct more directly than the technicality of touching the stake. It is always a shame that some people just simply can' t seem to follow the rules as they were meant to be.

RE: flag/stake question
I would say silly more than anything. I doubt the distance gained is going to amount to anything beyond a waste of time.
BUT, having said that I would also add that if the shot is set to cause a certain difficultysuch as shooting over, around ,through, beside something. The bending of the flag to avert such a difficulty is a violation of the sportsmanship rule as referred above. At the point such an action causing the removal of a level of diifficulty, could be cause for disqualification as un-sportsmanlike conduct. In a situation such as this, no points are given for ingenuity. Shoot it like it was intended. ken12 |

RE: flag/stake question
Jim
What do you mean " have fun" , is that what this is all about. I thought that when you could look at a shooter that is not touching the stake by an inch or two that you should have him disqualified and then add him to your list of enemies. For some people if you take away that edge that they may have (and no others) knowing every rule to the exact interpatation (theirs) you take away the only power that they have and the only way that they may have a chance of winning something. There are times when I have not been able to see the target because of my height (short people) and had to move some how. If you walk up and someone has knocked the flag over and it is laying on the ground, do you have to call an official to replace it or do you just shoot it where lays? If a flag is bent over and you stand on it is that legal? I' m with you, if there are major violations of the game bring it to the officials and let them make the decision. |
