Question for Bowpro
Ken,
Jim from JJT Outdoor Sports here with an equipment question. We carry AAE Plastifletch vanes - 4" , however, after setting a guy up at the shop, we measured these vanes and they' re actually 3 7/8" ......so how does this work for HC??? Manufacturer markets at 4" and is actually short??? I' m concerned because we mainly use these vanes at the shop. Thanks, Jim aka maco12 |

RE: Question for Bowpro
With the understanding of actual vane length in mind 3.75 or longer is what they must measure.

RE: Question for Bowpro
Ken,
According to the HC rules, 4 inch vanes or longer must be used. The Easton Diamond Vanes are advertised as 375 (or 3 3/4" ), however AAE Plastifletch' s are adverstised as 4" , but are only 3 7/8" . If I' m reading your response correctly, the rule should actually state that 3.75 or longer....correct??? Just don' t want any of my customers getting in trouble. Thanks, Jim |
RE: Question for Bowpro
I gave you the allowance that we would use in the event that vanes are checked in the HC' s.
We would not use any manufacturer' s specs, just a ruler. ken12 |
RE: Question for Bowpro
Ken,
So in the event this persons vanes were check with a ruler at the event and they were 3 7/8" , they would be legal????? That' s how I' m reading your posts. So, it doesn' t matter what the specs are from the manu., only what the ruler says when you check it and if it' s 3.75 or greater they' re fine......correct??? Thanks Jim |
RE: Question for Bowpro
MACO12, I AM IN AGREEMENT WITH YOU, I JUST DO NOT GET THE RESPONSE. KEN, COULD YOU PLEASE CLARIFY AND TELL US IF YES WE CAN USE 3.75 OR NO WE CAN NOT? THANK YOU, WE JUST DONT WANT TO DRIVE 2 HUNDRED MILES AND GET TURNED AROUND. BUTCHB.

RE: Question for Bowpro
4" is the required length but because of manufacturer' s differences there is an allowable variable. The same as with the bow speed or arrow weight. 3.75 is in 3.5 is out.
