rules for 3d

I am shooting my first 3-d shoot this weekend and I dont exactly know what the rules are. I havent shot at an archery shoot for a long time(15 years) and that was when most clubs were still using hay bales and you shot 4 arrows per target etc.. So i have heard that at a 3d shoot you shoot 1 arrow per target? If you miss its a zero? or do you get a 2nd shot at a reduced score? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

RE: rules for 3d

Usually one shot per animal target, if you miss its a zero and some time spent looking for the arrow! I also just started shooting 3D and leagues, here are some GREAT sites that helped to answer my questions. Once you understand these two different sets of rules it will be easier to understand the rules when you attend clubs that have slight variations. Hope it helps, set aside some time, probably 20 mins max for these two sites.
