RE: Michigans 1st Annual Thumb Area Triple Crown

I have the R-100 marked on my calendar. The club sounds great and its closer than the Washtenaw one. Maybe I'll see you guys up there on Saturday. My name is Ryan and I have an orange X-force. Thanks for the info!

The shoot was not that great. It was pretty much in a field and used way to many small weird targets. Also target #30 was way over the mark. The green stake was about 49 yrds and should be a max of 45. If the thumb triple crown is going to follow IBO rules then the host clubs need to pay more attention to distance in each class. I really hope that the next one will pay more attention to the distance rules.

The target distance was addressed and will not happen again. there is a +/- of 3 yards so being 4 yards off could have been worse. The next 3 sites of the Triple Crown all have beautiful wooded property and great courses. Hopefully we will have a good turn out and will all work together to turn this into a yearly event that will continue to grow. The scores are now posted on Archery Talk.

The 3rd Leg is Aug. 9th and 10th at Mid Thumb Bowmen in Brown City and the Final Leg is Sep 6th and 7th at the Boy Scout Shoot at Silver Trails in Jeddo. You must shoot in 3 of 4 legs to qualify for the overall championship but you can shoot in any Leg for prize money.

Glad to hear that the target distance will be addressed at the next legs. By the way I don't know where the concept of +/- 3 yrds came from the following is from the IBO rule book. [b]** Approximate distances have been added to allow the use of a laser range finder and to allow for inherent variations in their accuracy. Approximate distances are NOT intended to be an excuse to stretch target maximum distances.

I'm looking forward to the next leg this weekend in Deckerville.
