What is the longest expected shot, during a 3-D competition?

60 yards?
50 yards?

Just wondering what to expect and where to set my pins to get full use of them.

the max distance depends on what class you want to shoot.
Hunter Class is max 35.

The distances are by the color of the stake.
Blue 50yds max
Orange 50yds max
Green 45yds max
Yellow 35yds max
White 25 yrds max

Best bet would be to go to www.ibo.net and have a good read of the rules it is all defined in there.

In all classes if the range captain wants to be sneaky he will have targets from a few feet out to the max yardage.

I thought the ranges were approximate. That way, you won' t have one right at 50, more like somewhere around 50. We had some last year at 54 yards.

Chief - It is approximately 50 for the blue stake :)

Rule states: All the colored stakes are set at a maxium distance except for the blue stake. Orange stake is 50 yd MAX.

IBO is 50yd. max, ASA is 45yd.max. Now thats estimated,not exact.
