new 3d bow

I' m in the market for a new 3d bow. I would appreciate any feedback from you 3d specialist. I Have been looking on line at the bowtech pro-40, Hoyt ultratech/protech also interested in the new conquest from mathews. I shoot with a release off a string loop at 29" 65lb.

All are fine choices, it just comes down to what you like and what you are comfortable with.:)

I am currently shooting a PSE DURANGO 281/2 inch draw, 60# limbs, x-cutter arrows, bowdoodle pro light arrow rest, toxonics nail driver slidebar, bullseye millennium scope with a 4x lens, and Scott three finger back tension release.

I just shot the PRO40DC and put one on order! You really should try them out for yourself though. The draw cycle and letoff might be very different than what you have now and I could see it being somewhat uncomfortable for some people. I generally have 70 lb max high letoff bows and this one will be neither of those things.

You really should try one out if you can.

I' m waiting on a Conquest III myself, very forgiving and smooth. I' m shooting a Q2XL now and really like it but I need all the forgiveness I can find....in more ways than one.:D

I would definetly go with the conquest III. Pound for pound you will find no other bow on the market, with the same geometry(axle to axle, brace height) that will as the conquest. The 41 inch axle to axle length and the 7 inch brace height will make it east to shoot, and you will still have the speed you need for 3d. I have a conquest II with a 28" draw length at 69 pounds and i get 288. You would be around 8 feet faster i would guess with your extra inch of draw length, and shooting a few less pounds. The only change i see to the new conquest III is the limb cup design, so it should be very close to the conquest II.

Yes I' m very intrrested in the new conquest since I' m currently shooting a Legacy and just sold my Icon which I used for 3d:( However, I am trying to keep an open mind and give several different models a look. The AR-37 is also very appealing based on all of the current hype. Bigggz21 are you shooting the stock grip on your mathews or a replacement?

J.shoot do you have any idea when mathews will be making their products available?

Check out the CSS Challenger or CSS System. Both are very forgiving and fast. www.customshootingsystems.com

lawdawg, look at the BowTech P40, either dual cam or single. I shoot a P38 dual cam for 3D, and it' s everything I need in a 3D bow. They have ample brace height, speed, and are plenty accurate. BowTech is a great company that goes the extra, to help and support it' s customers.

Would have to say the Conquest3 myself, my second choice would be a Darton Rampage and then a Hoyt Ultra Tec. Had a Conquest Light and sold it, big mistake, it was really an accurate and smooth bow. So quiet and vibration free, it didn' t seems to move at all when you released, really pleasant and fun to shoot. I am sure the Conquest 3 will be even better. I own a Darton Rampage now and it is a very nice, accurate, fast, and a very forgiving. It is good for 3ds, not bad on spots, and an excellent lightweight hunting bow, I will never part with this one. Never owned an ultra-tec but have owned a few Hoyts and really like them alot. Have alot of friends that shoot and swear by the Ultra-Tec, and are backing it up with some real good finishes in IBO and ASA events. Right now it seems to be taking forever to get a Hoyt though, whats up with that anyhow?? Just my two (2) cents.

I like the following bows, Mathews Icon, Mathews Q2XL, and finally the new Conquest 3. Anyone of them would be a great bow for you. I am currently shooting the Icon as my 3-D bow.

Hey Guys, shot the Hoyt ultratech over the weekend. Very nice!!! I was a little skepticle of the grip but the more I shot it the better it felt. Seems like the Hoyt boys have put together a really nice package in the ultratech. An ultratech in flame pattern may be the ticket. However, I' m still waiting to shoot the AR-37 and the Conquest 3 before making a final decision. I would like to hear any feedback on these two models if anyone has shot them.:)

I just received my new Bowtech Patriot dually, The specs are unreal,332 fps, brace height 7 7/8, axle to axle 35" . Today I threw my bodoodle pro light rest on a nock and my custom bow site and shot 594 indoor round with 44x' s with a 2312 shooting at 287 fps, 62 lbs. The bow is really stable at full draw, a little load but I don' t intend to hunt with it.

The brace on the black max is closer to 5.25" . Not very user friendly, I' d say.

Decision Made!!!!!! Hoyt Ultratech Cam .5 in Fade Blue. What is the luck? Went to my local dealer to shoot the Conquest 3 and ran into another customer with this bow wanting to make a deal for a Matthews. The bow was still in the box brand new - got it for $599.00. As soon as I can get all of my accessories on it, I will try and post a picture. :D:D:D:D

lawdog - You were in the right place at the right time. I think you would of had a little wait for a blue bow. :D Ohio_Curtis has his Hoyt all decked out, the words on his sight even match his bow.
