Angry about our 3-D shoot yesterday.
We had our 3-D tournament yesterday. (I'm the range master for our club)
Towards the end of the shoot, a few groups of shooters came to me and complained about how hard one of the targets were. They said that the target was impossible to get a 10 on. I quickly jumped on the 4 wheeler and went and checked it out. Somebody had moved the target a little, piled some brush up in front of it and then moved 4 out of the 5 stakes! Not only does the cheating tick me off, but after all of that work, it pretty much ruined our tournament. Everybody who came through there after that stuff was moved, actually tried to shoot it and their score were naturally low on that target. A couple of them only missed getting a trophy by a couple of points. NOT right at all, but what were we supposed to do?? Luckily, most people were cool about it once I explained what had happened. By talking to groups of shooters, we have it narrowed down to 2 different groups who did it. One or the other, if we can figure it out, they'll never shoot there again.......... Kev |
RE: Angry about our 3-D shoot yesterday.
In the past when unforseen things happened like target changes due to weather or other things, we scratch this target from all cards and base the results on the remaining number of targets. It isn't a favorite for those who shot a ten, but it keeps the field fair for everyone not just the shooters who had the open lane and the ones who shot after when it was covered.
But the first shooter who came to this target and found the scoring rings obstructed should have put the call out for an offical of the club to come and rectify the situation. It is in the shooters right and is in the IBO rule book. Not to mention in this situation it would have given you a real good idea which group did it. |

Next shoot, (We have 3 shoots this summer) I will post my cell phone # and then they can call me, I can be to any target in under 3 minutes on the 4 wheeler if I have to. Thanks for the input. Kev |
RE: Angry about our 3-D shoot yesterday.
This has nothing to do with your shoot but it has happend to us before at our local shoots you know when something is wrong just becuse you have shot at these places many of times being just practice to us we will go move a limb or something that does not look right i know advancing towards the target is aginst the rules but i dont like to trash my arrows on people playing jokes on other people that are behind them why make others suffer at the amusement of watching your friend have a tougher shot leave the targets alone and if you have to make a example out of these people do it

Just when you think you have herd it all. " About someone doing somethig stupid, or just flat out cheating." You hear something else that tops the list. This kind of crap makes us all smell bad to the beginners.

I hope you find out who it was. If you do, and know where they are from I would send a note to every club in the area and maybe get them black-balled from all clubs.
