what do you use for a lube?

just curious. do you use soap, oil, or what? i'm interested in hearing what you think of each of these--or what else can be used effectively.

thanks.

Woody's Arrow Lube! There's nothing better on carbon arrows!

A homemade lube tube (in camo/duct tape finish<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>) made from a mini- M&M's container with a sponge in it. The lube is good ol armour all. Works great for me.

I have always liked warm baby oil......OHwe were talking about arrow lube. I am like JD with the soap. But I went one step further. Melt some soap in the microwave then put it in a used deodorant dispenser that turns up from the bottom. Simple easy and no mess if it is raining.

thanks again for the suggestions. here's another question? (don't laugh, i'm serious.)

do you ever notice any problems with soap putting a weight on the arrows making them not fly as true as without soap?

we shoot about 42 lb so our arrows don't have a lot of oomph.

just wondering.

I second the Woody's Arrow Lube! Works great put it on every 6 to 8 shots and forget about it.

Just a bar of soap. I do like the idea of melting it down, that's pretty ingenious.

Here, here for the mini bars of soap. Especially the cheap stuff. (motel six) I always end up being the official arrow puller and nothing is more aggravating than a burned in acc with some oil concoction on it. I must admit though I'm not familiar with Woody's arrow lube. I carry extra soap with me just in case someone in my group needs it.

I melt Ivory soap & pack it in a push-up deodorant tube.

Ivory bar soap works much better than silicone.
