Default Lodging in Anderson...

There have been a lot of concerns from people about the availability of lodging and weather Anderson can handle the number of participants and families. I used to travel and stay in Anderson for a little race called the Indy 500 .....believe me there are plenty of rooms in the area and they can handle anything the IBO can throw at them. Coming from the northeast and spending a week there is was great ! There was a lot to do, deer creek ( I believe that was the name) had concerts during the summer, there were local sprint car races (home of the little 500)and a lot of other family things to do. These are all my osbservation on the area. I hope a lot of you come out and enjoy the local...........I am sure looking forward to it...

My concern is not rather they have rooms available or not, but can they provide me and 6-8 of my friends accommadations for the 4 days for around the same price that Snowshoe did. ($105) each including meals !!!

If it isn't any cheaper at least there will be many more choices and locations which will make for a little more competition.

Lodging information is now posted on the City of Anderson Website. This information does not yet include the campgrounds. That information is forthcoming. Click on the IBO Logo.

A whole lot cheaper!
I have been sitting here cruching numbers and still can't come up with a cheaper price, I guess I need some help. At Snoeshoe we paid $640 for a condo and $300 for groceries = Total $940 divided by 9 guys = $104.4 for each person. Now at the Holiday Inn it is 99.99 + 11% tax = $109.89 each night. 4 nights would be a total of $439.56 divided by 4 people = $109.89 for each person. Now correct me if I am wrong, But I have not ever seen a Holiday Inn that has a condo that will accommadate 9 people. So the bottom line is it will cost $109.89 for a room and then we have to eat out for every meal. For 9 guys we would have to get 3 rooms @ $439.56 = $1318.68 not counting meals. Somebody help find where it is CHEAPER !!!!

Motel 6
Motel 6 = $49.99 + 11% = $55.49x 4 nights = $221.96 x 3 rooms = $665.88.

$665.88 divided by 9 guys = $73.99 each not counting meals.
