RE: Mental preperation
Try to shoot it like you are shooting a local shoot. A wise man once told me... When you get to a big tournament nobody throws pressure on you. Any pressure comes from yourself. If it comes from inside you, you can control it.Head in to the shoot with the mind set that you are going to shoot 40 good shots, not hit 40 11s. That alone has helped me big time. But I am kinda new. Hope that helps!

My mental preperation...
Sit around the camp fire with my buddies telling stories way into the earlier morning and consuming way too much liquid refreshments and then wake up way too early and try to get through the course without totally embarassing myself. Or in other words, just have fun and enjoy the time with your friends. Of course, I'm not a pro or even semi pro (and with my mental prep I never will be one) but I sure do have fun on these shoots.

I usually practice by slinging 30-60 arrows a day and by taking walks with a range finder for the week before the shoot. Just walk around and practice judging yardage - that seems tohelp me alot. Good luck this weekend!
