Trad class question

The rules for the trad class state that there may be only one nocking point on the string. Just to clarify, does thisrefer to the number of nock locators ordoes it just mean that you nock the arrow at the same point on the string every time?

Also, the rules state that the arrow should be shot from the shelf or hand. This really is a must and not just a suggestion, right?

RE: Trad class question

perhaps it should read one nock locating device on the string. (that is what it means)

Regarding the second question, yes it is a must.

RE: Trad class question

I have been shooting IBO for years and in longbow ,Trad. and RU ,we have always had two nocks on string 1 above and 1 below ,but you must only nock arrow at same place at all times in all classes.

I`ve shot recurve for 18 yearsand didn`t see many shooters in the ru,trad,or longbow using 2 nock locators. One is all you need and then shoot split finger (1 over 2 under ) or 3 fingers under.

Mike,
You are right. The intent of the rule is that there should be only one locator.

Bill C - does that mean it is now going to be enforced? Or allowed as 3dchamp says it has always been?

Steve,
I would hope that, since it is a rule, it would be enforced. The problem is that there is not much education toward our type of equipment. That turns everything into someonesview of the rules, and that's where we get into trouble.

Thanks Bill,

Have you had a chance to discuss the DAS shelve with anyone?

RE: Trad class question

I guess the big question now is why is this a rule?

"I guess the big question now is why is this a rule? "

Not allowing multiple nock locators on the string would be to make it more difficult for someone to string walk. That would be my guess.
