RE: What the hell is wrong with people!!
Here's a link to the story.. http://www.zanesvilletimesrecorder.c...ws/237146.html
I seriously think people that do stupid sh*t like this need to be charged as a criminal...It's not an accident..It's neglegence... It's stupidity...It should never, never, never happen... Damn it...This kid was just getting to the best years of a persons life and his dad took it away from him..... We're ALL taught to idenify your target before you shoot... It's freakin common sense ain't it. I've never ever seen a person dressed in camo or blaze orange that looked anything at all like a deer. This was murder... That's how I see it. Maybe if the law starts cracking down on stupid sh*t like this then maybe poeple will get their heads out of their asses and think about what theyr're doing... Yea, this sh*t pisses me off to no end if you can't tell it.... God rest this young mans soul... Edited by - BowTech_Shooter on 10/08/2002 11:46:04 |
RE: What the hell is wrong with people!!
A terrible tragedy from a senseless accident. From the article I can only wonder at the tactics that were being employed while hunting with a crossbow.
I see this as a tragey for us all.It seems that both father and son had not been taught the ways of bowhunting. The approach seems to me to be that employed while pushing a corn field during shot gun or rifle hunting seasons. If that is the case, there are many at fault here. There are many things that were not done or not explained, or not followed. Such a shame. Such a waste. But each of us can help prevent a similar tragedy in the future. Many of us work wit an archery shop. Most of us belong to a club. All of us love to bowhunt. We can help those that do not have the experience or the expertise to learn the practices and skills of bowhunting. Most of all we can pass along the ethics of being a bowhunter that we have learned through the years. Whether we want crossbows in the archery hunting season or not, they are sharing our season in many states now. Since they are there we must assist those that choose a crossbow as their weapon to become bowhunters. My heart goes out to this father and his family. Our prayers go out for this young man so tragically lost. ken12 |

I agree with most of what you say except, I totally disagree with your opening sentence. This is not an accident in my opinion... It's neglegence... Kinda like not wearing a safety belt while in a treestand...I have no sympathy for those that fall and aren't wearing one. Working retail part time I've had people call me a p*ssy because I wear one.. Well, I guess this p*ssy wants to stay alive or at least reduce the risk of falling and getting seriously injured... To me that's the same mentallity as shooting at a moving corn stalk...It's freakin STUPID...NEGLEGENT...PERIOD...This should be treated as a crime not an accident... Just my .02 worth... |

RE: What the hell is wrong with people!!
HOW in God's name could something like this happen? How can someone be so stupid, yet have enough extra money to buy a crossbow? Really makes you wonder about some morons.
