Default When

Bots outnumber actual members 3 to 1, you know its a bad day for a forum.

Very sad too when it can so easily be stopped.

Seriously though, block access to India and China IPs and most of those will be gone.

It's been at least a 3-1 bots to member ratio logged in for the last several years and often it's even higher.

FWIW, most of the mods have brought this up to admin at one point or another. Admin doesn't as to delete any questionable members (read bots) unless they are spamming in posts. I'd rather just get rid of the bots but it isn't my or any other mods' call.

Stuff like this is common in bot sigs.

Sexcams...honestly this is shameful they allow links like this in profiles
https://www.huntingnet.com/forum/mem...rthur5693.html

Ive seen everything from porn to illegal software, drugs and streaming sites in these sigs. The people with the power to stop it LET IT HAPPEN. How many members need to click a link with malicious software before it sinks in?

I'm guessing that the link you quoted has malicious software. Your point is well taken though. It's sad when a website that should know better risks its' members getting malicious software when the links violate the rules anyways.

The forum does not offer the ability to report a "profile". You can only report a member if they post unless im missing it. So the ONLY option is to PM a mod or admin. Well that is very time consuming and fills up your inbox fast. Not one mod or admin has even looked at the profile i posted. The user clearly has a link to a porn site in his profile.

The TOS is very clear about automated user creations being banned. Yet they let it happen so many times a day its pitiful. vBulletin software can easily be configured to "spam block" known sources of spam. Mods with the right permissions can remove every single one in a few seconds if they were allowed to do it. As an admin for a Xenforo based forum i know exactly how easily it can be done. Literally takes me a few seconds to ban, remove and stop any more trying to create accounts. Internet Brands OWNS this forum and OWNS the vBulletin software. There is not a single excuse in terms of software that this should happen 100s of times a day.....Its simple.....the 2 top "dogs" that get the final word here.....LET IT HAPPEN and by letting it happen they encourage it to happen over and over and over.

I don't disagree with anything you've said. Mods simply do not have those permissions so it rests with Admin. I've been gone for a bit but checked in today. That member is now permabanned with a note about porn. FWIW, this same basic issue was discussed quite a bit with Mods and Admin and one of the best mods actually resigned over it. The rest of the mods seem to be all over the page so to speak about the issue. Some have stated it's a problem and should not be allowed. Others have not said a word about it. Just a simple look at the mod forum is quite telling.

I want to be perfectly clear about this.....I DONT BLAME THE MODS......You cant do what should be done without the permissions and tools to do it. As far as i know there are 2 guys that could stop it or at least bring it to a crawl. Ive looked at a couple other IB owned forums that dont have nearly as many of these bot names and the same guy is the top admin there also. Why he lets it happen here but not there is a complete mystery.
